![]() There is no clear first April Fools day but it originated sometime around 1582 in France. Back then the tradition was to celebrate the new year for 8 days starting on March 25th and ending on April 1st. The Gregorian Calendar that we know of today had been introduced and enforced…however, many people didn’t get this news for years because news traveled by foot. In Scotland April Fool’s Day is celebrated for two days with the second day being called Taily Day. Filed under: April
