Today is also Patriots Day for MA, Maine and Wisconsin but it is celebrated on the Monday so if you live in those states you got a day out of work…hooray for holidays!!! Basically it is to honor the battles of Lexington and Concord, the first battles of the American Revolutionary War that were fought on April 19, 1775. Traditionally this is also the day of the famous Boston Marathon that is observed on the Monday of the week thus making it that great 3 day weekend for people! Sometimes good old tax day falls on this day too
