Letters From Santa
Posted on 06.11.08 by holiday @

When you are a child those Letters from Santa can be quite exciting. Sure as a parent you know that it is really ridiculous but for a child a letter from Santa sometimes is the most exciting part about Christmas…so as a parent we will do and get things just to see that smile on their face. And the Santa letters that you get from Jingle Bell Junction are really nice. They are not cheap letters that look like they came from a grandparent trying to disguise themselves as Santa.

There is just nothing like the excitement of the holidays. Don’t get me wrong…I love the summer and I am going to enjoy every minute of it but come October the excitement is in the air with all the up coming holidays…I would say January -March are the worst months of the year :) Every child needs to get that great letter from Santa and they have to make their letter to Santa as well. It is just fun and you can make it even more fun. Spend some quality time with your child working on the letter with them. And this site is very user friendly so you will be able to get all the information that you need in order to see if something like this is something that your child would like. This would make for a great thing for a grandparent to send as well…that way the child and the parents won’t know where it came from :)

I think that it is a great time of year that should be made the most of. It only comes around once a year so why not make it a special and as memorable as you can for the children. If you are a teacher this is something that is perhaps fun to do as well…a letter from Santa for the entire class and you can hang it up in you classroom. I love to look at the excitement of a child this time of year. And when they get that letter you have to be sure to get it on video so that you can play it to them in years to come…very memorable moments. Check out this site for your letter from Santa!

ledtree.gif

I personally love the led fiber optic lights whether they are the led rope lights or a complete full Christmas tree. And the rope light are becoming more and more popular these days because they are an easy way to really create an atmosphere and spruce up the area you are trying to decorate whether it is for a wedding or just a great party outdoors. You can get a great deal with rope lighting from Bird Dog Distributing. They also have icicle lighting which is also nice as well as yard and patio lights and novelty lights.

This site is very user friendly and well organized so that you will have no problems in finding what you need. They have great prices as well as products that are quality product and are fully guaranteed for your satisfaction. They even have a great rope lights FAQ page as well as a page to help you with rope light installation and applications. Check out this site if this is something that you are interested in getting.

Posted on 01.10.08 by holiday @

Did you get a Christmas chocolate gift - who didn’t right! I just love getting chocolate any time of year. And yes the Christmas holidays are now officially over and the trees and decorations really should be down now…Valentine’s day is coming up and that mean more candy and more chocolate!! And for christmas you may get the chocolate stocking stuffers but for Valentine’s Day you really want the bigger boxes of chocolate…at least I do!! I mean who doesn’t want the big boxes of chocolate to endulge in. I personally like chocolate covered cherries…actually chocolate covered anything sounds good to me!!

2008 Christmas Shopping
Posted on 01.10.08 by holiday @

Well folks…now is the time to do all your shopping for certain things now. And ebay has great offers for people cleaning their stocks. Get your wrapping paper now from the stores but you can go on ebay and get little things. Like lights, tree toppers, trees, ornaments and perhaps even that electric train that actually goes around the tree - how cool is that. That is what I am getting so that I have it for next year. If you get a little exch year when the prices are down and low that is they way to go!

Christmas Trees
Posted on 01.07.08 by holiday @

I personally think that the Artificial Christmas tree is really the way to go when it comes to the holiday season. I like to see the pine trees alive and outside - decorate them outside rather than cutting them down to only be able to enjoy for a month or so. And with the beautiful Artificial Christmas trees that are out there these days why would you want to cut one down. This way you can have a beautiful tree inside to decorate as well as nice Christmas trees outside to decorate. And at the Christmas Tree Market you just can not go wrong with their selection. They have a ton of tree to choose from!

They also have a great selection of tree skirts, lights and other decorations and accents that are just a must have for the holiday season. And they have great sales going on during the season as well. Sure the holiday season is over but why not get that Christmas trees early…I mean really early this year. That way you will be all set for the 2008 Christmas season! I always do my holiday decoration and wrapping paper shopping right after the holidays and just put it away for the year and then when the time comes I am all set and I can just enjoy the season without having to get all this stuff for it! Check out this site for the best trees on the net!

Family Holidays
Posted on 01.04.08 by holiday @

I just love Family Holidays and what better way to spend a holiday than to be with your family and perhaps go away on a nice UK Holidays vacation. Is think holiday vacations are the best because you can just get away from it all and really concentrate on the most important thing of the holiday season or the specific holiday…togetherness and family. And there are just so many option and places that you could go to enjoy yourself. But you are definitely going to want to check out haven Holidays first before you make any plans. This site is very user friendly and easy to navigate through so you will have no problems finding exactly what you need from restaurants to golf courses.

There are so many great options and places to go and all the resources are right there on the site. And sure the Christmas vacations are done but there are plenty of holidays and school vacations left to take advantage of. They have a great Easter holiday vacation that you may just want to check out at great prices. And you can book your next holiday stay right online from the convenience of your own home and computer. Perhaps that is what you need … a Haven Experience…even just a short getaway with your spouse maybe i order…time to recuperate from the hectic holiday season that you just went through!!!

And the Haven Caravan Parks are so much better than going in a hotel - you have the independence as well as sometimes the space not to mention that they are very well located so that you can visit many super attractions nearby.

Candy Canes
Posted on 12.27.07 by holiday @

Well, I missed national candy cane day. It was yesterday on the 26th. In fact there is really nothing to celebrate or any weird holiday for today the 27th. I just love candy canes…there is nothing like the taste of peppermint especially this time of year. There are times that I just can not get enough peppermint and candy cane but only in the form of a candy cane. I don’t like other peppermint things like chocolates or drinks…just candy.

Merry Christmas
Posted on 12.25.07 by holiday @

Well, I hope that every one had a great day today. Merry Christmas!! I can not believe that it has come and pretty much as gone at this hour of the day. It is just amazing that the day and this month goes by just so quickly. Time is a funny thing sometimes - it just goes by way to quick. I t hink we should spend more time living fo the moment rather than for the future and what is to happen in a months time. Oh well…Merry Christmas!!

Nothing On!
Posted on 12.24.07 by holiday @

I can not believe that the night before christmas there is absolutely nothing on tv for kids!! What is the deal with that. There are the same shows in reruns or there are stupid movies like Santa Clause with Tim Allen…stupid! I can not believe that there are no good holiday shows or specials on practically any of the stations. The people who are in charge of programming the shows are really stupid people that have no clue what the general tv watching public like!

Best Gifts
Posted on 12.24.07 by holiday @

I love the holidays and Christmas time but sometimes you just feel forced to have to go out and get that something for that someone that you don’t see any other time of the year other than Christmas day. I just don’t like to do that…I find it to be pointless and a waste of money. I also think that sometimes it is just nicer to get gifts for no reason at all. I mean if you are the type of person that likes to get gifts this time of year that is great and I love to give gifts on Christmas day but I just don’t like to feel as though I have to …takes the fun out of it.

Christmas Eve
Posted on 12.24.07 by holiday @

Well, it is here…Christmas Eve…it went by rather quickly I just can not believe that tomorrow is Christmas. It is like we look forward to this for weeks and months and before you know it is here. Some people like to go out and have a christmas eve party. I remember when I was little we would have Christmas at my grandmothers on christmas eve and christmas on the day at my other grandparents. It was fun. Today will be nice and quiet for me though…and I think I will like that best this year.

Fun Activity
Posted on 12.23.07 by holiday @

Another great activity to do with the kids… although it is a little late to do this now…but to make links and tie them to their bed post or perhaps even get them a little tree of their own for their rooms. Put as many links on and together as days left before the actually Christmas day. Have the child take a link off of the chain for each day…it is a fun count down for them as well as being a nice little and short craft project that you can do with your children.

The Weekend Before!
Posted on 12.22.07 by holiday @

Well, it is the weekend before Christmas so everyone is out trying to get that last minute shopping completed. Hopefully there are not people starting because they are cutting it close that is for sure. And do not over pay for that shipping - there are sites and places out there that grossly over charge. I got a few thin books and it cost $10 for them and they were going to charge me $40 to ship them. That is just absolutely insane!

Repeats
Posted on 12.20.07 by holiday @

It really bothers me that they cram all of these cartoons for the kids to watch and to enjoy around the holidays on one day during the school week and then they end up playing a ton of repeats. Why not spread them out a bit more and put them on a Friday so that kids can watch them without being completely and totally exhausted the next day. Especially with the writers strike happening - I mean…there is nothing else on anyways right!

Christmas Story
Posted on 12.18.07 by holiday @

I just love the movie the Christmas Story but I really liked it when it was on all throughout the month of December. I don’t like how there is just one station that has that movie on 24 hours that is just kinda stupid and rather annoying actually. i would be more likely to watch it more than once if it were on on different days. Who would sit there and having it on that station for 24 hours streaight…it just doesn’t make a sence if you ask me.

Poinsettia Day
Posted on 12.13.07 by holiday @

So yesterday was also poinsettia day. I just love getting these flowers. I always get a really nice one for my grandparents but I decided to get them a wreath this year. And these flowers if you take care of them really last a long time for the most part. I actually saw a pointsettia tree the other day and it was just so different … very unique I though. I was going to get it but I had already got something for them and I figured they really didn’t have a place to put this but it was really nice looking.

Gingerbread Cookies
Posted on 12.11.07 by holiday @

Do not forget to make those lovely and delicious gingerbread cookies. The funnest part of making these cookies if you ask me is the decorating them. I just love to decorate them with my neices. I will make them and then invite them over and just give them all the frostings and the fun stuff to decorate them with. So be sure to make those great cookies and have a lot of fun decorating them - great quality time with the kids too!

Caroling
Posted on 12.10.07 by holiday @

Are there people out there that still go caroling? I have never experienced anyong caroling in my neighborhood and I am thinking that it is really something that doesn’t happen too often. However, I do really like to sing with my family on the holidays - we get around the piano and just sing goofy carols. It is just a lot of fun. We sound horrible but that is ok because it is just fun. That is what the holidays are about…having fun and being with your family.

Yankee Candle
Posted on 12.05.07 by holiday @

Yankee Candle really blew it this year! I order something on 11/21 in hopes to get it for 12/10 - not unreasonable but now I will not be getting it until the 17th which is just too late. I am so upset. And they are not taking any orders at this time that wil be delivered in time for Christmas….not good at all! I am very upset about this too. And I called their (877) 803-6890 number and the wait time was 30 minutes and I called 3 times and they disconnected me all 3 times after 3 minutes and 40 seconds (my phone told me that is how long the call lasted). That just really stinks!!

The Nutcracker
Posted on 12.03.07 by holiday @

There are just so many great traditions that one should really do every year this time of year. And one is seeing the Nutcracker. You have to see this at least once every 3 years I think because it is just such an uplifting and fun performance to watch. And even children really like this…so it can make for a really nice family outing. And there are usually great productions in all areas of the country.

Stockings
Posted on 11.19.07 by holiday @

Personally, I just love making my own stockings for the kids. It is a really great things to do with your students as a craft or project too. Get the 50 cents stockings that you can find at the dollar shops in your area and then decorate them yourselves. Sure they will not look as spectacular maybe as the ones that you buy premade in the stores but in the long run and years to come they will just have so much more sentimental value. And you just can not put a price on that!

It is that time of year again…I love this time of year. The excitement is in the air, the gifts are being bought and the beautiful Christmas Decorations are going up. I saw people just this weekend on their rooftops putting those lights up and the decorations in the years. I already have my tree up because I just love to look at the lights and everything before Christmas Day so the earlier they are up then the better if you ask me! There are so many great sites out there too like GiftWrap that have great decorations and things for the holidays.

There are just so many things to think about and get also…And you can get everything all at one place. The stockings, tree ornaments, wreathes, garland, yard decor, centerpieces, candles and lights to just name a very few. This site is very user friendly also so you will have no problem what so ever finding exactly what you want. They also have great cards and wrapping paper also but you have to shop now and shop early so that you can get the ones that you want and have that time to send them out and wrap things up. I did try to make it myself one year and it came out quite nice but it just took me too long for everything!

Holiday Cards
Posted on 11.15.07 by holiday @

Have you started writing out all of those Christmas cards yet? Now is the time to do it because Thanksgiving is next week. And the best time to send out all the cards is the week after Thanksgiving if you ask me. That way people can get them well before Christmas because many people like to hang these cards up for the holidays. So you want to make sure you get something worthy of being hung up like custom Christmas cards. Vista Print has cool photo opportunities when you get their custom cards. I think that personalized cards are just so much nicer than other generic cards in a box that are all the same. All you have to do us upload your photo to so it is very easy to order you special cards from them!!

Holiday Movies
Posted on 11.08.07 by holiday @

It seems as though there are just so many of the same typical Christmas movies that come out every year. I like Vince Vaughn however, I don’t know…Fred Claus is just a little over the top. I can picture that guy from home improvement playing something like this. I mean I realize there are just so many different ideas that are out their that you can do for a Christmas movie but still. I am just not into these types of movies unless they are on dvd or on cable….then I welcome all Christmas movies!!!

Gift Ideas
Posted on 11.05.07 by holiday @

I just love coming across stores and sites that offer great and unique Christmas gifts. Lets face it…some people are just very difficult to shop for so any and all Christmas gift ideas that you can get are welcomed…especially for those who have it all already!

Sometime the practical items make for great christmas gifts but if you are a mom then getting that something that you would just love to have but would never go out and get for yourself is always a nice sort of gift to get too…like that nice necklace or bracelet that you have always wanted.

Abernook has many gifts for all occasions and for all ages..baby items to digital frames. They also have cookie tins and other sorts of great holiday treats and Christmas Gifts that anyone would enjoy. The perfect gift for the boss or the co-worker that you feel obligated to get something but you just have no idea what to get! the site is very user friendly and very well organized so you can search by a variety of categories that are listed on their site. Definitely check out this site if you are at a loss of what to get someone this up coming holiday season..you may just find that perfect gift there!

Holiday Wreaths
Posted on 11.02.07 by holiday @

Here is a great tip to make sure that you get the most out of your holiday wreath. Many people get one around Thanksgiving and they do not last through the holidays when they really can be lasting until February…looking just as nice as the day you got it. The key is to keep the moisture in the needles of hte pine so what you want to do is hair spray the freshly made wreath as soon as you get it…it with trap the moisture in!

Santa Claus
Posted on 10.25.07 by holiday @

Here is a site that I came across for a people search - it is called Spock.com and so I decided to try it out to see how it worked. I typed in Santa Claus to see what came up. I found this site to be very easy to use and a lot of fun. I was actually on this site for quite a while. And if you like it you can even add the browser search bar to your screen. And this site is completely free to use.

You can search by name or even by “tag” of a description or even a piece of personal information like like Red Sox, green eyes, likes fruit…and these tags can be made by you or by other Spock members and then you can vote for or against the tag. You can also vote against the pictures also.

Not only is this site very user friendly but it is not cluttered and it is very appealing to the eye. Less clutter is better with things like this…a search engine should be one that just gets to the point of the matter. And it is obviously doing very well because even though it is in beta still it has a Google page rang of 5 already! This is a site where it is easy to find exactly what you are looking for with ease and convenience…two things that go very nicely hand in hand. And their information is always up to date so you do not have to worry about info being 5 years old or more!

This site is nice because the Spock members can actually contribute to the search which in essence will make the results so much better in some cases. Now this is not a social network it is a people search engine where you can find celebrities, loved ones, athletes, famous people…you name it and you can find it! It has been around since 2006 and it is going strong and will probably only get better with age. Check this site out if this is something that you could use or could help you out in finding someone that you have been searching for…a long lost love or friend perhaps?

Your Led Christmas Lights
Posted on 10.15.07 by holiday @

thumbnail_specials-catagory.jpg

Are you looking for new led Christmas lights for this upcoming holiday season? There are many Christmas lights out there to choose from but the LED lights have proven to be safer and last so much longer. They do not heat up nearly as much as a regualr Christmas light so it reduces the chance of that tree fire.

And they just last so much longer so you do not have to go out every year to replace your lights that just did not make it in the attic this year! 1000 Bulbs have a great selection of Christmas lights for you as well as other light for your home throughout the year. The prices are also quite affordable too. This site also has really cool lights too like snowflake lights, yard art lights, lantern lights and window hangers to just name a few. Inside the tube is usually a balloon, paper hat, silly gift and a joke or a motto that are usually not that funny :) These can also be used as welcoming gifts, invitations, promotional gifts, shower or wedding favors or even promotional gifts. Or perhaps you can use them as tree ornaments of stocking stuffers…the possibilities are endless.

Christmas Tree Lighting
Posted on 09.21.07 by holiday @

main_image.jpg
There is just nothing like putting up that Christmas tree in your home or community that just gets the Christmas spirit on it’s way. I just love putting up the tree but you want to make sure that you have LED Christmas tree lighting. You do not want to have a fire because you got faulty lights!

The traditional incandescent lights that you have probably been using for the last 30 years just make too much heat and sometimes it can actually make enough heat to start a fire and ignite the dry combustible materials. Not to mention that you r electric bill will goes up because it uses a lot of power…which will also create those electrical fires.

I have a lot of LED lights in my home - like the night lights in the hallways and I just love them…so why not put them on your trees. They look just as nice and they are just so much safer for you and your family and your home. They also always stay cool to the touch so if you have little children you do not have to worry about them getting burned by the light and they only draw .072 watts per bulb so you will be less likely to overload your circuit and your bill will not be so high too!

So now is the time to replace those old bulbs for your tree this year!

I just love the holiday season and in one month it will be upon us…the leaves with be falling and it will be getting colder and the holidays will just be here before you know it. And personally, I just love putting up my ornaments and holiday decorations early even my outdoor holiday decorations. I put them up around Veterans Day because I do take them down pretty much right after New Years Day. The thing is to shop early and shop now for the greatest and best deals on great decorations that are just a must for the holidays. And decorations really do get people in the holiday spirit and most of the time in just a really good mood!

Santa Quarters has great traditional as well as modern day holiday figures like Mickey Mouse, Peanuts, Winnie the Pooh and do not for get the Grinch! They also have great artificial trees, ornaments, garland and lights to just name a few. I much rather have an artificial tree because in the long run they are just so less expensive and there is really no clean up afterwards and the ones on this site are just absolutely beautiful and they have a great selection by size and type. And do not forget those wreaths that go on the doors - you can keep them up for the entire winter if you ask me!

Now is the time to get all that stuff so that you do not have to worry about it later when everyone is shopping and trying to get stuff. In fact, I do most of my holiday shopping in the summer and early fall months!
