Doghouse Month
Posted on 08.18.08 by holiday @

If you have dog then you probably have a doghouse for it. Well, you have to maintain that house just as you do your own house so this month take the time to do those Doghouse repairs because it is doghouse repair month. Pain it and fix the roof so that it dose not leak when the dog is outside and it is raining. And paint it pretty so that it matches your house. A doghouse doesn’t have to a an eyesore in your yard but something nice.

Culinary Arts Month
Posted on 08.18.08 by holiday @

It is Culinary arts month. So if you like to cook then you may just want to consider that career in the culinary arts. I know someone that just graduated from culinary arts school. There is also a school that is not too far way where you can get really cheap meals but they are fabulous because it is the students that are just learning to make their dishes. So sometimes it is great and other times it is not so great but it is cheap so that is good.

Single Working Women Week
Posted on 08.01.08 by holiday @

It is single working women week. There are many single working women out there - and there are many single working women mom’s that are working out there as well. You have to give a single working mom a lot of credit. They are doing all that they can do in order to give their children a good and happy life even if they are exhausted by the end of the days. It is hard to work and to take care of a family and when you have to do it by yourself it makes it that much harder.

Herbal Awareness Week
Posted on 07.30.08 by holiday @

It is herbal awareness month. I love natural remedies and taking herbal supplements as opposed to other kinds of prescription. However you do have to be very careful when it comes to taking herbs. They can be very dangerous and potent but if you know what you are doing and d you have hem like in tea form - having a great cup of chamomile tea is a lot better than taking all of those sleeping pills to help you relax at night.Herbal

Make Someone Smile Week
Posted on 07.30.08 by holiday @

It is make someone smile week. It is time to make that person smile and I think this would be a great idea to do this every day. There is nothing like making someone smile and it not only will brighten up their day but it will also make you feel good too. It is a win situation and happiness and laughter tends to spread quickly. It is the best feeling to just laugh and it will help keep you looking vibrant and young as well too.

Hot Dog Month
Posted on 07.27.08 by holiday @

It is national hot dog month. I just love hot dogs although you should not have them to often since they have been link to cancer. Did you know that the average person eats 70hout dogs a year. That is a lot if you ask me but I believe it. I was just watching TV the other day and they were having a hot dog eating contest - that is just so incredibly disgusting if you ask me - I was really grossed out about it - yuck!

Scrabble Week
Posted on 07.27.08 by holiday @

It is scrabble week. I like the game of scrabble. It is always a fun game to play with your family. At least we use to always play it. I like to try to challenge them to see if they are really making up the words. It is a fun game and it is an educational game as well. A great game to play with your kids. Spend some quality time with your kids this weekend and play that great game of scrabble. I don’t like watching it on TV though..much better to actually play the game.

Make A Difference In Children
Posted on 07.23.08 by holiday @

It is always a good idea to make that difference to children and this month is the perfect month to do so. It is make a difference to children month and sometimes it is just so easy to do. Sometimes the simplest things…actually most time the simplest things can make a difference to a children. Taking them out for ice cream or read them a book - it doesn’t take much but it means the world.

National Family Reunion Month
Posted on 07.22.08 by holiday @

It is National family reunion month. I believe it because there are lot of get together that happen in he sunny month of July. It is a nice month to get together with everyone and you can get together outside so it is cheaper because you don’t have to rent that hall or anything. My husbands side of the family has a big reunion where they even get shirts and sweatshirts for everyone to wear. It is a big thing but it is a lot of fun!

Air Conditioner
Posted on 07.22.08 by holiday @

This month is air conditioner appreciation month and man do I appreciate my air conditioner. It was so hot last week it was just horrible. It was very oppressive so much so that if you went outside it was very hard to breath. But it is ok if you have the air conditioner blasting. Of course your electric bill will be through the roof but it is worth it and needed sometimes.

Blueberries
Posted on 07.18.08 by holiday @

This month is blueberries month. I just actually went strawberry picking last weekend and it was so fun - I love doing that every year and I make a great strawberry pick. So not I have to think about going blueberry picking. I have a cheesecake recipe that would be just great with blueberries instead of chocolate chips. But it will just take so much better with fresh blueberries as opposed to the ones you buy in the stores.

Restless Leg Syndrome Week
Posted on 07.18.08 by holiday @

It is restless leg syndrome week. If you experience this then you know how painful and frustrating it can be. And it is horrible in the late hours of the night. It can keep you up and just really make your life and daily activities just so much harder than they should be. So this is the week to learn more about it and be more aware about this disorder. And who knows…maybe you have it and you didn’t even know - now you can fix and treat the problem.

Cell Phone Courtesy
Posted on 07.17.08 by holiday @

It is cell phone courtesy month so have a little courtesy and don’t be calling other peoples cell phones to bother them. I could not believe it but I got a telemarketer on my cell phone last week and I was just so upset. I mean that just is not right. I have to pay for their call on my cell phone because that takes up my minutes. That should be against the law and I was very upset about it.

Women’s Motorcycle Month
Posted on 07.16.08 by holiday @

It is Women’s motorcycle month. There are just so many women that have motorcycles. I never realized how many there were. And you can get really cool bikes for women too not like it use to be where you could just get the bikes that were primarily for men. I have even seen a pink bike. That was actually kind of cool. If I were a motorcycle rider I would like it.

Rabbit Week
Posted on 07.15.08 by holiday @

It is rabbit week. I ha a little rabbit when I was little. His name was Bugs Bunny and he was a huge white rabbit that lived for 12 years. And then I got a black miniature bunny that was huge when I was in college but I had to give him away when I moved because I couldn’t take him with me. Went to a rabbit rescue shelter and they took him to find him a nice home. I like rabbits though.

Parent Gifted Children Week
Posted on 07.15.08 by holiday @

It is national parenting gifted children week. Yes…all parents things that their children possess a certain talent and/or gift. Every parents can sees the best in their child even though they may not be nearly as good as they think they are but that is ok - they are their part so they are proud of their child. Nothing wrong with that at all in my opinion.

Parks and Recreation Month
Posted on 07.15.08 by holiday @

So this month is Parks and Recreation month. I think that it is just so important to make sure that the park and recreation areas in your community are well taken care of. Keep them clean and safe because they are really a great place to go for and outing or to bring your children for the afternoon. It is a lot easier to keep them clean rather than have to repair them years from now.

Tour De France
Posted on 07.11.08 by holiday @

It is Tour de France month. I never really new what this was until a few years back. I am not a bike rider and I really don’t follow it much at all other than if hey say something on the news about it. Never was a bike rider - I just didn’t like it - maybe because there was really no place to ride a be so I never did. The roads were just too bumpy and I didn’t like that at all.

Social Wellness
Posted on 07.11.08 by holiday @

This month is Social wellness. It is good to be social because it actually can make you feel better about yourself and it is good for your over all health and wellness. Personally, I am not much of a social person. Never have been actually but when I do start to talk to people and socialize it is fun. I think it is just initially socialized with new people that I really don’t like.

My grandmother is now in a wheelchair hopefully just temporary because she loves to walk but she broke her hip and they miss diagnose d it so she did more harm by walking on it for so long. This month is Wheelchair Beautification. So if you have a wheelchair then it is time to make it really pretty. I have even heard of contests that you can enter. This is your way of transportation so you should do it in style.

Sandwich Generation
Posted on 07.10.08 by holiday @

This month is Sandwich generation - it is a month to think about how sandwiches are made and how many sandwiches there are out there. I would live to have a sandwich named after me. I wonder what I would have in it. I think it would be turkey, mayonnaise, bacon, lettuce, tomato and Swiss cheese. Now I am getting hungry. I should go to subway and make myself a sandwich just like that J Sandwiches just make for a great lunch in my opinion.

Unassisted Homebirth Week
Posted on 07.10.08 by holiday @

This week is national unassisted homebirth week - good luck with that one! I would not want my child’s birth to be unassisted but that is just me and quite frankly I would not want it to be in my home. I would much prefer and rather have a birth in a hospital with professionals around to help me get through it. Especially if it is your first child…I just wouldn’t want to be alone doing it by myself … even though your do do it by yourself.

New Jersey Week
Posted on 07.09.08 by holiday @

It is be nice to New Jersey Week. I didn’t know that we were mean to New Jersey but if you are then you have to stop this week and you have to be nice to them. There is nothing wrong with New Jersey. I have a friend that lives in a very nice part of New Jersey and she works in new Your City. It is little bit of a commute but she didn’t want to live in New York. I also work with someone that use to lie in New Jersey and she prefers that part of the country as opposed to this one.

Nude Recreational Week
Posted on 07.09.08 by holiday @

It is nude recreation week - that is a little strange but if you are a nudist I guess this is your week. There are many topless and nude beaches out there. I have yet to go to one and personally I would not feel comfortable nude on a beach with other people that are nude on a beach but that is just me. If this is your thing then this is your week so enjoy it and have fun being nude!

Chicken Wings
Posted on 07.09.08 by holiday @

It is international chicken wing week. I had a friend in high school whose mom would marinate chicken wings and it was just so good. She made the best wings I had ever tasted and I have not tasted chicken wings that even come close to how good hers was. I should have gotten the recipe but I didn’t cook back then. And now I have completely lost touch with this friend. Oh well…guess I’ll have to make my own recipe.

Bikini Month
Posted on 07.09.08 by holiday @

It is national bikini month. I am not one for the bikini. I use to wear them but I don’t wear them anymore . I am more of the tankini and skirting…a nice bathing suit that just covers pretty much about everything and anything. I am all for wearing a bikini if you have a great body. I say if you have it then you mid as well flaunt it while you have it because someday you will not be able to wear that bikini anymore…at least you shouldn’t wear that bikini any more.

Sun Awareness
Posted on 07.03.08 by holiday @

This week is sun awareness week. And it is a good time to do this because it is hot and the sun is very strong. And before you know it - you are outside for 30-40 minutes and you have a terrible sunburn. And if you have small children you really want to make sure that you protect their skin. Because they burn very easy and you don’t want to be on vacation and then having a painful sunburn on their neck or head. And be sure to wear sunglasses and hats!

Second Half
Posted on 07.02.08 by holiday @

Today is second half of the year day. It is the beginning of the second half of the year. I love this half of the year because it is summer then the holidays. The first half of the year stinks - it is dark outside and the weather is cold. The only good thing about the first half of the year is that you have the second half of the year to look forward too :)

Canada Day
Posted on 07.02.08 by holiday @

Today is Canada Day. I guess it is sort of like the 4th of July in the US. So if you live in Canada then happy Canada Day. Get out the BBQ and have your picnics. I am assuming that they also have a day off today. It is always nice to have the mid week day off as opposed to the Monday or Friday…unless they observed it on Monday. I like having a day off in the middle of the week…it breaks up the week better and it doesn’t seem as long.

There are actually so many - My brother took the postal exam because he wanted to become a postal worker but then decided to go into chemistry…I know…big change. Anyways he had to learn a whole bunch of zip codes - that test is actually quite the test. Very hard to pass he said and he is a smart guy too.

However, there are chocolate cheesecakes that are just fabulous!
