Ireland’s magic number is 3…playing a major role in the Celtic symbolism and also which is why the shamrock is so lucky. It has been said to represent many things just as the past, present and future or faith, hope, and charity just to name a few. In Ireland everything good comes in 3’s. Even their story telling is based on the threefold repetition. It is also usually included in the Irish wedding bouquet. Filed under: March Comments: None |

The month of March is national Cheerleading Safety month!! I was a cheerleader and I have to tell you…it can be dangerous. If you do not know what you are doing then you could seriously hurt someone. Especially if you are the one doing the catching or are the one on top of that huge pyramid. Cheerleading safety is a good thing to go over and this is the month to do it in! Did you know that this month is national frozen food month. I love some frozen foods but others are just so disgusting,. And some frozen foods are just down right terrible for your health. Sometimes you freeze your own foods like vegetables or desserts…and they last so much longer obviously. Like bread - many people freezet heir breads because it lasts a lot longer. In America it is custom to wear Green for St. Patrick’s day. And ironically the color green is a sign of bad luck and is very unlucky in Ireland. It is mostly associated with St. Patrick’s day because green represents the color of Spring. It is said if you have Irish in you you should wear green and then other’s say everyone has a little Irish in them so everyone should wear green because in America it has been said to bring you luck…the Emerald Isle Filed under: March Comments: None |

What is the meaning behind St. Patrick’s Day…..Well, basically St. Patrick’s Day is the Roman Catholic day of feast for Ireland’s patron saint, St, Patrick, who died in the 5th century. Ironically, St. Patrick was not born in Ireland, but in Great Britain. It is celebrated every year on March 17th in honor of St Patrick who has been said to be the one who converted the Irish to Christianity in the 4th century. He was also said to be the one responsible for driving the snakes out of Ireland. Filed under: March Comments: None |

The 4 leaf clover has long been associated with Ireland and St. Patrick’s day. It has been said that if you find a 4 leaf clover you will have good luck. The 4 leafs on the clover stand for hope, faith, love and luck. If you find a clover with more than 4 leaves it will bring you bad luck. To know if you really have a 4 leak clover - the 4th leave is most of the time smaller than the rest of the leaves. Filed under: March Comments: None |

Leprechaun’s are Irish fairies. They are little old man dressed like a shoemaker. They have a crocked hat and a leather apron. They are not very friendly are loners and like to make shoes. They are also hiding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. If you catch a leprechaun you can make them show you their pot of gold however they are quick and if you just take your eye’s off of them for a second they will just disappear and you will never get the gold. Two Irishmen, Patrick & Michael, were adrift in a lifeboat following a dramatic escape from a burning freighter. While rummaging through the boat’s provisions, Patrick stumbled across an old lamp. Secretly hoping that a genie would appear, he rubbed the lamp vigorously To the amazement of Patrick, a genie came forth. This particular genie, however, stated that he could only deliver one wish, not the standard three. Without giving much thought to the matter, Patrick blurted out, “Make the entire ocean into Guinness Beer!” The genie clapped his hands with a deafening crash, and immediately the entire sea turned into the finest brew ever sampled by mortals. Simultaneously, the genie vanished. Only the gentle lapping of Guinness on the hull broke the stillness as the two men considered their circumstances. Michael looked disgustedly at Patrick whose wish had been granted. After a long, tension-filled moment, he spoke: “Nice going Patrick! Now we’re going to have to pee in the boat!
