Infertility Month
Posted on 06.03.08 by holiday @

Did you know that this month is world infertility month. So often many people will spend their whole lives trying not to get pregnancy and then when they want to have that baby they find out that they can not. But sometimes infertility can be treated and actually you do have a chance on conceiving and having that child. But if not there are always other alternatives when it comes time to start your family.

National Photo Month
Posted on 05.28.08 by holiday @

Did you know that this month was national photo month! I just love to take photos too. I use to go to Sears but now I just take my own. It is a lot cheaper and not only that but I think that I take better pictures than them. I had a terrible time with Sears the last couple of times I went there. So take out your camera and start capturing those pictures that you can someday look back on. Memories are great when you can look back on them in photo albums.

Perhaps walk tot he grocery store rather than using all your gas and driving. I think we are going to see a lot more people riding their bikes this summer as opposed to driving there cars that is for sure! Time for all of us to get into shape!

It was just such a gorgeous day today also…the perfect day for a picnic or Memorial Day Outing because it was sunny and not a cloud int he sky but the temperature was perfecct and there was just a little bit of a wind. It was a really nice day for all the Memorial day festivities. Be sure to remember all of those who gave their lives in the wars for this country.

Indy 500
Posted on 05.25.08 by holiday @

Today is the Indy 500. My grandfather is big into these kinds of races. There is like nothing on tonight so Nascar is something that is on … it can be exciting at times. There was also a Memorial Day parade today that was fun to watch. I had not been to one of those in like years so it was nice to see one. It brought back old memories to which was kinda nice. Childhood memories are always nice to get now and again.

International Jazz Day
Posted on 05.24.08 by holiday @

My husband is really big into Jazz. He loves to listen to it and he use to love to play it. Jazz is really nice to listen too..I love to listen to it at restuarants in the backgrouned. I would proably not go to a club to listen to it though because I like it but I am not a huge fan of it., But if you are then today is your lucky day…go out and listen to your favorite jazz today!

National Taffy Day
Posted on 05.23.08 by holiday @

Today is national Taffy Day..I have not had taffy in just so long. I love salt water taffy. My grandmother used to get us some everytime she went on vacation and I really dind’t like it all that much. She would get the different colors and I kinda liked the green ones but not really but now I just love it. I think I grew to like it and now I just find it so delicious but my daughter hates it … maybe with time she will end up liking it as welll some day.

Children’s Book Week
Posted on 05.23.08 by holiday @

This week is Children’s Book Week. I have just such a hard time trying to find really nice books for children these days. My daughter just loves to read and there are no books out there at her level that are appropriate if you ask me. I do not like getting books that are just beyond her years and that are really for teenage girls. I prefer kids books but they are just too easy for her to read. And she does not like fantasy or adventure so it is just very hard to find good books for her.

Bread Week
Posted on 05.21.08 by holiday @

Did you know that this week is bread week. I love bread almost as much as I love to have salad. I think that bread and salad should be included in every meal. My favorite kind of bread is the garlic bread or bread that has mozzarella cheese on it. Or the breadsticks that you can dip and dunk in sauce. I love the Pizza Hut breadsticks…they are just delicious. I love the kind that you can make as well in the over by Pillsbury. I just love bread…very fattening though.

National Salad Month
Posted on 05.21.08 by holiday @

This month is national salad month. I just love salad…I mean any kind of salad everything from vegetables to fruits! They are just so incredibly good and just so healthy for you. I like to have a salad a day personally. I mean I will sometimes just have a salad for a meal…why not…because it is a lot better than a hamburger and fries that is for sure

Weights and Measures Day
Posted on 05.20.08 by holiday @

Today is weights and measures day. I guess it is a day where you should appreciate the fact that there is a measurement system? Or maybe it is a great day to teach your children about weighing and the different measurments. Personally, there are somethings that I still get confused about when it come to measuring this. So be sure to weigh your stuff today..Maybe you should weigh yourself…time for that diet maybe :)

National Vinegar Month
Posted on 05.19.08 by holiday @

I just love vinegar…I love to cook with it and I just love to clean with it. Cleaning with vinegar is great because it is just so effective. And not only that but it also is very safe to use. You do not have to worry about your kids being hurt or if the pets eat it you will not have to worry…because vinegar is natural. I wouldn’t have a lot of it but if it is licked it is not big deal.

Nothing
Posted on 05.19.08 by holiday @

Today is technically nothing but it was a beautiful day so I cleaned my grill. I found a mouse in it which really dropped me out. I guess it was living there all winter. So I had to completely and totally disinfect it. It took me over an hour to do this because it was just so gross…not because it was literally gross but just the thought of a mouse living there was yucky. So I really scrubbed and washed it down.

Meditation
Posted on 05.16.08 by holiday @

This month is meditation and personally I think that meditation is something that everyone should be able to do. It is something that can really improve your health whether it is your physical health or your mental health. Meditation can help you to relax and just improve your overall state of mind. It can help cure ailments too like headaches and aches and pains in your body. If done correctly it can be a great thing to know how to do successfully!

Bike To Work
Posted on 05.16.08 by holiday @

Today is ride your bike to work day. Unfortunately it is terrible weather to do do. It is very rainy and it is actually rather cold like that raw kind of col when it rains outside. Very unseasonable weather out side that is for sure. But I think that if you are not that far from your work..it would be in your best interest to ride your bike to work. You would save money on gas and you would get great exercise as well!

35+ Mom’s Out There
Posted on 05.15.08 by holiday @

Well, today is the last day of a week long tribute to moms that are 35+ out there. My good friend just had a baby and she is 35. It is weird how the day you turn 35 makes your pregancy high risk in the eyes of the doctors because she was considered high risk. Today i find that most mom’s just starting out are in their 30’s but when my mom was 35 she had a 15 year old, 13 year old and a 11 year old. There is something to be said to starting your family out while you are young though too.

Posted on 05.15.08 by holiday @

Today is national chocolate chips day…I just love chocolate chips. My favorite kind is the white chocolate chips. There are just so many great recipes too. I just made a chocolate chip fudge cake this weekend actually and it lasted all of r2 days here becaues everyone just loved it. And I just love to make my chocolate chip cheesecake…that is delicious but for that one you need the mini chips and sometimes they are really hard to come by for some strange reason.

So enjoy national stocking day and go out and get a pair while you are at it!

Root Canal Appreciation
Posted on 05.14.08 by holiday @

Today is root canal appreciation day is today and I don’t know why we would appreciate having that root canal but I guess it is a lot better than having that tooth just decay in your mouth. Root canals are not fun that is for sure but they are necessary if you would like to keep all of your teeth. It is like a love-hate relationship. And I think that many people really do not like dentists…I know that I am not fond of mine - nice person but I just dread the dentist.

National Hamburger Month
Posted on 05.13.08 by holiday @

So, it is notional hamburger month this month…which is a great month for it because the weather is getting nice and it is time for those BBQ outings. And personally I like the hamburgers as opposed to the hot dogs. Hot dogs are known to cause cancer and increase your risk especially in children that have them more than 1 time a week. Hot dogs are ok but hamburgers are better and this is the month to eat and enjoy them!

We were all just ok at it but it was just a great lot of fun. Not to mention that I was the most in shape the month. It really does make for a great workout. We use to play in pairs. So if you like to play tennis ..this is your month!

Limerick Day
Posted on 05.12.08 by holiday @

Today is national Limerick day…what a fun day! I remember when i was little and in grade school having to create and make up limericks in school. And sometimes you can come up with clever ones that are really funny too. I wonder if they still do that sort of stuff in school. It seems as though all the teacher has time to do is teach for that terrible standardized test!

Posted on 05.10.08 by holiday @

Today is national babysitters day - so if you are a babysitter…today is your day. And let the people who’s kids you babysit know it is today…maybe you’ll get a bonus if you are babysitting tonight…it is a Saturday too! I remember I used to babysit and it was pretty fun. I guess it all depends on who you are babysitting right :) I have had a few kids that I would like to forget about..little terrors that you just can not control and you just never want to babysit them again!

Posted on 05.09.08 by holiday @

So my niece has a webkinz and today is the webkinz birthday. So when you go onto webkinz world you will get a birthday letter as well as a piece of virtual birthday cake for your pet. It is kinda silly but she just loves it. And she is inviting me over to her virtual webkinz home to have a birthday party for her pink horse. These webkinz make for great gifts too…they are not that expensive either and you have a huge selection of animals to choose from!

No Sock Day
Posted on 05.08.08 by holiday @

Today is no sock day..which sounds great for me because i just hate to wear socks and it was a pretty nice day today so I didn’t wear socks today anyways. I mean why put socks on on the hotter days..take them off because just by having them off you will be cooling your body off. Your feet and your head regulate your heat that is why if you have a fever it is always best to put a cool cloth on your head and your feet.

Prepare To Buy A Home Month
Posted on 05.07.08 by holiday @

This month is prepare to buy a home month. And what a year to do this in. The housing market is definitely a buyers market and you just can not go wrong with the low mortgage rates If you have ever thought about buying that home then this is the time to do so. My sister is getting married and they were looking at apartments and I convinced her to start looking at homes because you just can’t go wrong. If you can get that loan then that is the way to go.

Are you a grump? Well…aren’t we all a little bit of a grump at times. I know I am that is for sure. Well, today is a great day to let your grump out. Just be grumpy all day if you want to. I was so grumpy one semester when I was in college that my good friend got me a grumpy t-shirt and I still have it and I still wear it on occasion…even when I am not grumpy!

School Nurse Day
Posted on 05.07.08 by holiday @

Today is National School Nurse Day. As much as the teachers are overlooked so aren’t the school nurses. They are there to help you when you don’t feel good or get hurt but no one thanks them as much as they really should be thanks. Just another occupation that really goes un-noticed and under appreciated. So when you see your schools nurse today - you may just want to say thanks for all that they do for you and your school. Happy National School Nurse Day!

No Homework Day!
Posted on 05.06.08 by holiday @

Today is no homework day…and ironically my daughter had no homework today! Did the teachers know that today is no homework day? Doubtful so it is very ironic that this happened. But I am glad because it is just too nice of a day to have to stay in doors doing homework. Get htose kids outside in the yard running around and getting that much needed fresh air and sun light. So put the homework aside today teachers and give your kids a break!

No Diet Day
Posted on 05.06.08 by holiday @

I like this day…no diet day…eat all you want because today is your free pass to get off that diet and splurge a little bit … right! And why not! If you have been on the diet for the past few months then taking one day to indulge in a little ice cream is not going to harm anything. Just stay on the tread mill a little bit longer today. And when you diet be sure that you do not starve yourself and eat healthy!

National Teacher Day
Posted on 05.06.08 by holiday @

Today is national teacher’s day…a day to remember your teachers and how much they actually do for you and for your children. Moswt teachers are over worked and underpaid…although there usually are the exceptions but that is true to any profession. Personally, I think the administration is way overpaid in school systems but that is just my opinion. So thank your teacher today - get a coffee at the local coffee shop :)

The month of May is motorcycle safety month. It is always important to make sure that you are safe while driving and there are so many other things that you should think about when riding a motorcycle. The month of May is not only the month of flowers but also the month of salsa. So if you like to dance or if you have always wanted to take some ballroom lessons then this is the perfect month for you to try out the great dance of Salsa. Or if you do not like to dance you can always go on out and get some tortilla chips and salsa dip….sometimes that is just as good. Not really exercising but it goes great when you’re watching the game!

Stepmothers Day
Posted on 05.01.08 by holiday @

Today is stepmothers day…I guess they are not included in the traditional mothers day. It is kinda weird though because it is on a Thursday and not like a Sunday like the normal mothers day is. I had never heard of this and I don’t think that it is practiced all that much. I think most people celebrate mothers day for all mothers…step, grand and great. But if you are stepmom…have yourself a happy day and treat yourself to something nice.
