Today is to not eat too much candy and wind up sick for tomorrow. You still have to go to school and work so control yourself. It is still early in the holiday season so you want to make sure that you do not eat to much too soon especially if you want to keep within that weight range. I do not think that anyone plans on over eating and gaining all that holiday weight so just be sure to think before you shove all that candy in your mouth! Today is the most appropriate day I can think of to try to use your psychic powers. Some people reallly do have this weird and uncanny ability and others really do not. And some people really wish they did and truly think that with practice or something they can attain this. Today just makes for a great day to just order out and get that Pizza. Sure it is usually thought of on a Friday or Saturday night as a dinner however, it is a great idea to have pizza on a Monday. It is just a great idea because it is the beginning of the week and you are back to work…so why not just order out. That is what I am going to do today. Well, today is mother in law day today. So it is a day to say your thanks to you mother in law. I am fortunate enough to have a very good mother in law. I really like her and she has been nothing but nice to me. And if you do not like your mother in law…then maybe today is a good day to start a new. Today is plaid day and I do not know about you but it feels like a plaid day. It is rather rainy and a nice flannel plaid shirt would definatley csould cozy right about now. And the season really calls for plaid. I always think of plaid being worn in the fall. I have always liked plaid - shirts or pajamas. So, get out your plaid and it really is time to get rid of the summer wear. Today is crazy hat day. It is the most perfect day to get that really crazy hat that no one else probalby has nor does anyone else want. You know the hat…the one that you really liked but you have never ever worn in public. This is the best month to get out your sarcasm because it is national sarcasm month…that is right. In the month of October be as sarcastic as you want because it is the best month of the year to apparently be like this. I think sometimes a little bit of sarcasm can go a lot way. Today is a nice day to have a cup of tea. Have a cup of tea day. Doesn’t matter what kind or what you put in it whether it is honey or sugar. Just sit down and relax with a nice cup of warm and inviting tea. Whether it is to settle your stomach or your nerves I just always find tea very soothing and comforting especially this time of year. Today is Pasta Day!! I just love pasta. I actually live on pasta because I have some everyday. But lately I have been having the whole grain pasta. It really does not taste all that different from the other pasta I usually eat and it is suppose to be more healthy for you…but that could change next week fro all we know. So apparently October is Seafood month…but I don’t know why. I would think that August would be a better month for seafood. However, I love seafood year round if it is good and fresh. I just love any sort of shell fish and I like the fish stuffed with other sorts of fish. Here is a good one…this week is prescription error awareness month. And believe me…it happens more often than you think. It is actully quite horrible to. I never leave the pharmacy without looking closely at my prescription because I do not feel like going back and I just do not want to get sick. This week is celebrate your job loss. If you just lost your job it can be quite devistating but remember everything happens for a reason right! Today is National Lung Health day. It is just so important to go for your regular health check ups so that you are check out and that includes you lungs. And if you smoke you really should work on quitting because it really does a number on your lungs. And if you get lung diseases or infections it just is very hard to treat and to cure even. If you like stamp collecting then you are in luck because October is stamp collecting month! When I was little I had a sticker collection. I put them all in a box. i never really did anything much with them though. In fact I have no idea where they are and I am pretty sure they are not worth a penny. It is just so important to learn about your family history and it is just a lot of fun and I find it to be very interesting. Sure you can learn from old books and records however if you have a relative that is rather old and is still alive and has a goo recollection of the past it is just so much better learning it first hand. You may be surprised in what you will find in your families past! I use to always talk to my great grandmother about things when she was alive and I wrote things down so that I could someday tell my kids! Filed under: October Comments: None |

So you can take this one of two ways…or both ways. Maybe national mole day means that you should check out your moles. Make that appointment with your doctor or your dermatologist to have them screen your moles and other things on your body. Or perhaps it is a day for those cute but sometimes very pesky moles. Today is a great day to start your flossing regiment. Everyday you should floss. In fact you should have dental floss in your car an din your pocketbooks because you never quite know when you will need some floos fro your teeth. Overall dental health is just very important and that includes flossing. So, if you do not floss today is the day to start and do this everyday! Today is apparently national nut day which is perfectly fine with me because I just love nuts! I try to have some everyday. My favorite is almonds but I like the mixed kind to. This month is adopt your best friend month…which means adopt a dog month! What a better way to spend the holidays with your new pooch whether it is a puppy or a little older. Personally, I like the little older dogs that just needed to be rescued because they didn’t have a home or because the owner just could not take care of them for one reason or another. Today is just a great day to think about your life and really reflect on things that you have done and have not done but would still like to do. Perhaps you are a parent that wishes they could spend more time with your children. Or maybe it is getting that education to further your career. Or maybe it is just that you never got that certain haircut or said something to that certain someone that could have completely changed your future. I think this week end is going to be a nice one so i am declaring it put your summer stuff away weekend. I always wait until it is really cold to do this sort of thing and I just want to get it over an done with in one day. So take in all that furniture and roll up the hoses and put away all of your summer items. It is actually rather sad because it really means that the colder weather is on its way and I really do not like that cold weather. Mind as well put the air conditioners away also while your at it! Did you know that today was the first day that the Star Spangled Banner was sung way back in in 1814. This song is very difficult to sing that is why when you do hear someone that can sing this song and sing it well you know that they are truly a great singer. Did you know that it is rollar skating month this month? Too bad no one rollar skates anymore! I remember when I was young rollar skating was the thing to do. Get together with your friend and go to the rollar rink to roallar skeate. I even had one of my birthday parties at a rollar rink and I remember it was very fun. It is Lupus Awareness month. I know someone that died of Lupus. She had one child and was very young…had it all of her life. She was actually so pretty too and was the homecoming queen as well as the queen at her senior prom. Everyone liked her and all the guys wanted to date her. It was really sad when she lost her battle. I think that she was only 25 and she had a 2 year old boy I believe. October is the month to be aware of this disease. It is hard enough to have you own small business and be able to make it work successful for more than two year. This months stone is an opal but not only an opal but also a pink tourmaline. They are actually very pretty stones also. Also if you know someone that was born in October- you may want to add some snapdragons to their bouquet because that is there flower. Every month had a flower and a gemstone. Today is world food day. So I am taking that to meant hat maybe today is a great day to go off to that restauraunt with the exotic foods that you have always wanted to try but just never did. Today is bubble bath day. It is the most perfect day to just go in that tub and fill it up to the top with nice warm/hot water and put your favorite bubbles in it. Just relax and perhaps light a few candles even for a nice evening atmostphere. Maybe have some music playing and even a nice glass of wine…why not you desearve it today. Did you know that today is Grover’s Birthday. I told my daughter about tit adn she got her 2 Grover plush stuffed animals and decided that we should have a party. Well it just so happened that yesterday I had just made some brownies with colorful chocolate chips in them so we used that for the cake. It was fun and she just thought it was so cool! Today is a great day to just go out and get htat dozen donuts…splurge a little bit and go out to your local Bakery or donut shop. Get your favorite kind or get a 1/2 dozen or even a full dozen so that you have something to have tomorrow morning for breakfast. That way you will not have to make breakfast tomorrow. This is the most perfect month to bake that great cake and decorate it..it is bake and cake and decorate it month! I actually have had a cake mix in my cupboards for a few months not because in the summer I just do not want to cook anything because I do not want to get up the entire house for a cake! Today is scream it out day - so if you are frustrated and you just need to scream today is the best day to do it. Let out some steam and stress. SOmetimes just screaming is really helpful asl long as you are not screaming at someone. It is acutally a good stress reliever sometimes depending on the circumstances. Did you know that today is the anniversary of Saturday Night Live. I like that show. There was a while where I really loved it and thought it was just so funny and then there was a few season I just didn’t like at all. But all in all it is a pretty good show. I am not a nurse but I know a lot of great nurses and without good nurses the hospitals would really fall apart. And a good nurse and make all of the differnce. When I was in the hospital 7 years ago I had terrible nurses but when I was in the hospital I 2 years ago I just had the best nurgse around and they were just fabulous. Today is a great day to play tag. Remember when you were little you use to probably play it all the time during recess. Well, if you have kids go outside with them and play a game of tag! I remembered playing freeze tag and then there was TV tag where you had to yell out a tv show if you got tagged. Tag is a run game and you can make up so many versions of the game too. Today marks the day of No salt week. So I guess there is one week out of the year where you will not be risking yourself against high blood pressure. I think it is a good idea to limit your salt intake and this is the perfect time to start this new form of good health for yourself. Well, today is a gross day if you ask me!! It is pretty disgusting when you open up the refrigerator and you go to get that cheese for your crackers or perhaps you go to make that grilled cheese and you have that one piece of cheese left but it is all moldy. Today is not only Columbus day but also kick butt day. So I guess it would be a great day to kick someones butt perhaps in a game or two.
